Responsibilities

The Accounting Supervisor will report to the Accounting Manager and manage a team of 2 employees.  The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently, and enjoy new challenges. The successful candidate will possess the ability and desire to grow and assume additional responsibilities as the company grows. This position will include diverse responsibilities such as GL account reconciliations, monthly accruals, manage software capitalization process and general journals, along with special projects as assigned. Success in this position will require the ability to independently develop expertise in new areas, often the result of business growth, and then implement processes and/or procedures to satisfy those business needs. Senior accountant positions at PCG are designed to provide a wide range of experience for the individual. Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Review and post journal entries submitted by accounting team and staff of related departments.
  • Help facilitate month end close by reviewing prepaids, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and various other entries.
  • Process international uploads and record monthly currency translations.
  • Provide general ledger and reporting assistance to financial staff of subsidiary companies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements.
  • Assist with the year-end financial audit.
  • Manage software capitalization process.
  • Oversee and manage internal monitoring program.
  • Ensure revenue recognition is consistent with GAAP and PCG policy.
  • Responsibilities may change as the department and PCG grow and as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Effective ability to prioritize and manage multiple activity streams.
  • Must have the ability to manage task load with frequent interruptions.
  • Must maintain attention to detail at all times.
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
  • Possess discretion to work with confidential information.

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of accounting experience.
  • Public Experience/CPA preferred
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience working with accounting software

 

Optional Experience:

  • Experience with international accounting
  • Experience with revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with Workday, SQL, and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience with project accounting.

 

 

 

Remote Work Environment with occasional in office presence. Candidates must be local to Greater Boston, MA area.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $100,000- $115,000 . In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
