Responsibilities

This position is in PCG’s Human Services practice area on the Aging & Disability Services (A&D) team. The A&D team works with states and providers to design, develop, refine, evaluate, and manage programs that support older adults and people with disabilities. Our mission is to help our clients improve the lives of the people they serve. The A&D team is seeking to add a skilled Data Analyst that will help us fulfill this mission.

The data analyst must be able to draw sound conclusions based on data analysis and communicate findings effectively, both in person and in writing. The ideal candidate excels in the collection of cost data and other information from providers, as well as the analysis and manipulation of large datasets. The data analyst should have a passion for doing high quality work, continuously learning and improving, effectively analyzing cost data, ability to develop rate calculation methodologies and regularly exceeding clients' expectations. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they can excel both in a fast-paced team environment and autonomously. Experience with government agencies and/or human services organizations is preferred but not essential.

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Assisting team members in completing various tasks and projects primarily related to Aging and Disability’s evaluation initiatives.
  • Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed.
  • Design, aggregate, and perform statistical analysis on data based on scope of work.
  • Provides guidance, oversight, and development assistance to less senior analysts. Delegates project tasks.
  • Assumes a team lead role, monitoring day-to-day operations of the quantitative portions of projects.
  • Develops methodologies, research questions, evaluations and analysis plans.
  • Reviews results and prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation of outcomes.
  • Identifies, analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Aids the decision-making process of evaluation teams by building results that present both insightful data summaries and clear support for conclusions and recommendations.
  • Facilitates discussions with client stakeholders, including interpretation of findings, development of reports and disseminating results.
  • Identifies and creates systems that lead to efficiencies and improvements for social services programs.
  • Values diversity and takes pride in developing and/or supporting a team dynamic that brings together diversity of thoughts, perspectives and expressions.
  • Understands and can operationalize both the service delivery system for programs which are administered by states and monitored by federal regulators.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

  • Project Management – Provide conceptual oversight and guide the quantitative analyses.
  • Research Design – Methodologies, evaluations and analysis plans.
  • Data Analysis, Interpretation, and Reporting – Guides the conduct of data analysis of complex data sets, including statistical tests.
  • Mastery of analysis software such as SQL and R.
  • Data Collection – Provide guidance in the development of quantitative data collection tools.
  • Report Preparation.
  • Collaborates with evaluation stakeholders in interpreting findings, developing reports and dissemination strategies.

 

Required Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4-6 years of experience in quantitative or Mixed Methods analyses/evaluations (qualitative/quantitative analysis skills).

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in conducting research or program evaluations of social services agencies.
  • Knowledge or experience engaging stakeholders or providing training
  • Knowledge or experience in supporting employment for people with disabilities, including vocational rehabilitation programs or services
  • Master’s degree

 

Applicants from across the US will be considered. Regular work duties are completed virtually/remote, but may require up to 25% travel.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $72,000 - $85,000 . In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
