Responsibilities

A major facet of Public Consulting Group’s marketing sales effort is participating in a range of external, industry-specific, professional conferences. The Conference Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for shows within a specific focus area. They will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders and third-party vendors, so excellent communication skills are a must. The ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure is also essential.   • Lead and own full conference life cycles for in-person and virtual events. This includes:
    • Research costs and requirements to attend conferences and professional development events.
    • Research costs and requirements to exhibit, and/or sponsor at shows within a specific focus area.
    • Present findings to project team(s) while providing strategy recommendations and next steps.
    • Carry out the registration process and maintain accurate records of all conference expenditures.
    • Educate project team member(s) on proper Workfront procedures, best practices, and available resources.
    • Coordinate with members of the marketing team to ensure requested materials and deliverables are ready and on time for each event.
    • Manage all inbound and outbound shipping logistics. Includes tracking packages and resolving delays with third-party vendors.
    • Serve as a liaison between internal participants and event organizers by communicating any updates, changes or issues that arise during the planning process.
    • Solicit, secure bids, and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors for conference-related experiences (lunches, receptions, dinners, etc.) as needed.
  • Administrative tasks may include resolving monthly credit card statements, cataloging inventory, refreshing conference giveaways and raffle prize options on a yearly basis, submitting a monthly conference report to PCG Life staff, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an aptitude to learn new software and systems.
  • Work independently and in group settings

Qualifications

Bachelors degree 

1-3 years meeting/event planning experience; preferably in a marketing department

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,000 - $79,999 . In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
