Responsibilities

Healthcare Program Associate – Medicaid Dental Policy in Menands, NY

Item 1423

  • Incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the New York State Medicaid Dental Policy program as part of the Dental Policy team within the Department of Program Development and Management.
  • Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform activities related to the review and development of oral health policies for the New York State Medicaid Program.
  • Perform and organize evidence-based research to support policies on topics such as, standards of care and best practices, latest dental technology, medical-dental integration, value-based payment arrangements, tele dentistry, access to care, and resources for Medicaid providers and members.
  • Assist in drafting and publishing Medicaid updates related to dental policy changes
  • Assist in annual update of the New York State Dental Policy and Procedure Code manual, and Dental Fee schedule
  • Collaborate with Performance Management and Quality Improvement (PMQI) team on data collection and analysis
  • Collaborate with Office of Quality and Patient Safety (OQPS) on national dental quality measures
  • Participate in Bi-weekly Dental Policy meetings. Create agendas and take meeting minutes
  • Engage with Medicaid Managed Care plans and prepare for quarterly meeting presentations
  • Participate in workgroups related to dental policy
  • Conduct activities that require direct interaction with New York State Medicaid dental providers, enrollees, and other organizations that are focused on the oral health needs of the New York State Medicaid population.
  • Engage in oral health quality improvement projects
  • Respond to phone and email correspondence from internal and external stakeholders as it relates to Medicaid Dental Policy
  • Prepare presentations for oral health conferences

 

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • At least 6 months of experience in healthcare

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough familiarization of Medicaid dental billing guidelines and criteria
  • Strong dental background
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to established standards

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $19.00 hr -$25.00 hr. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
