Responsibilities

 

 

PCG is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager who will be part of our Health Innovation, Policy, and Information Technology Team (HIPIT). 

 

 

The HIPIT unit leads the firm’s national efforts in Health Delivery System Transformation, Health Policy, and Health Information Technology consulting. These projects include delivery system reform efforts, payment reform, patient centered medical home and health home program design, health data analytics, behavioral health system design, dual eligible population management, health exchange development, MES IT assessments, PMO, and system innovation consulting.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities will include:

 

 

  • Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery
  • Independently manages complex projects, staff and tasks with limited supervision while meeting and exceeding performance expectations
  • Develops communication plan with clients
  • Identifies and elicits requirements from key stakeholders in each engagement
  • Facilitates client discussions
  • Identifies gaps and shortcomings, and determine necessary workarounds
  • Plans and monitors ongoing project tasks
  • Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management
  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
  • Manages changes to project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Measures and reports project performance
  • Performs risk management
  • Develops comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and other staff members
  • Uses and continually develops leadership skills
  • Develops and maintains work plans with baselines and earned value reporting to monitor progress
  • Establishes and implements communication plan
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation
  • Implements risk management process to minimize project risks and issues management to identify, track, and bring issues to resolution
  • Regularly monitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders, including the presentation of detailed periodic reports defining project progress, risks, financials, and solutions
  • Interfaces regularly with the client team, project subcontractors, and the PCG project steering committee where applicable
  • Holds teams (within PCG and partner organizations) accountable to agreed-upon performance metrics
  • Prepares other written reports and materials for clients
  • Manages daily project functions and client interaction
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

 

Education and Experience 

 

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a project management capacity, with preference for the management of adaptive, iterative project management approaches and for the management of non-IT projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent (Required)
  • Master’s in Public Health, Business Administration, and/or Social Work (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and/or Lean Certification (Nice to Have)

 

Required Skills

 

  • Excellent project management skills including workplan development and maintenance, presentation skills, oversight and execution of meeting-related tasks and materials including scheduling, agendas, minutes, task assignment and tracking
  • Exceptional leadership, management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge, interest, and experience working in health care at either the institutional, system, or county, state, and/or federal level
  • Experience and interest in quality improvement and process improvement, specifically in health/health care
  • Understanding of web-based meeting platforms such as Teams and Zoom to organize and facilitate large meetings and public-facing webinars
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with multiple agencies and organizations
  • Ability to work across all levels of management and staff, managing down, up, and across
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with federal, state, and county agencies as well as the public
  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision and on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Project, TEAMS, Excel, and Word
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $99,000 - $129,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
