Responsibilities

Administrative Assistant – Bureau of Dental Review in Albany, NY

The Division of Operations and Systems, Bureau of Dental Review is recruiting for a Healthcare Organizational Operations Administrator to assist the Bureau in day-to-day operations.  Incumbent will be required to provide overall clerical and administrative support. This includes scheduling meetings and coordinating conference calls, timely distribution and flow of mail, screening and routing telephone calls, review, proofread, compose, and handle correspondence, including e-mail to staff and external customers, and recognize and appropriately handle confidential material. This position serves as Departmental or Division receptionist, as appropriate.

 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer routine phone calls about claims review activities
  • Escalate issues and complex claims
  • Assist in review and tracking of dental claims to include pended claims and oral surgery claim referrals.
  • Assist with writing standard claim missing information letters 
  • Maintenance of recoupment database and assistance in clearing any backlogs of recoupment cases
  • Compose recoupment letters according to dental reviewer’s instructions
  • Assist in investigative work and complaint coordination
  • Provide timely prior approval reports
  • Provide Salient reports
  • Information Technology (IT) Liaison
  • Development and maintenance of phone unit coverage calendar, in-office calendar, and tracking of staff training.
  • Assist with on and off boarding of staff

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
  • Ability to be flexible, innovative, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor
  • Must be computer literate and have MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Strong writing skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to established standards

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with dental insurance , preferably Medicaid 
  • Familiarity with dental procedures

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Three years of administrative experience

*Employees must follow established work schedules. The usual work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the supervisor, this includes a half hour unpaid lunch break. Total work hours must equal 37.5 hours per week.

 

 

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $17.00 hr. - $20.00 hr. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
