Responsibilities

This position is in PCG’s Human Services practice area on the Aging & Disability Services (A&D) team. The A&D team works with states and providers to design, develop, refine, evaluate, and manage programs that support older adults and people with disabilities. Our mission is to help our clients improve the lives of the people they serve. The A&D team is seeking to add a skilled, team-oriented Consultant that will help us fulfill this mission.

The Consultant’s primary responsibilities will be to manage our work with clients, serve as a subject matter expert within their area of expertise, and contribute to proposals and other team sales efforts. Examples of specific responsibilities are described below. This position requires creative thinking as well as a detailed eye and excellent communications skills. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they can excel both in a fast-paced team environment and autonomously.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead grant application review process to determine whether applicants meet grant eligibility requirements
  • Oversee team of Grant Reviewers and provide support and guidance in grant application review process
  • Conduct quality assurance review process of grant applications
  • Review grant budgets for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain and monitor grant application workflow for review assignments, approvals, and processing through the grant lifecycle
  • Oversee grant agreement execution with approved applicants
  • Assist finance team with the development of payment files and other financial tracking activities
  • Communicate in a positive, timely,, and efficient manner with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Review grantee progress reports as required
  • Prepare aggregated grant program reports as required
  • Assist in development of other project deliverables as required
  • Conduct presentations to clients and stakeholders as required
  • Work with the team to develop new business and growth opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of proposal responses

  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets with accurate results
  • Ability to work both in a team situation and autonomously
  • Ability to work with colleagues and clients in virtual videoconferencing settings, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficiency or expertise in other software products for communication, data analysis, surveying, etc. (preferred)

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
  • Experience leading teams
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in the fields of government, information technology, human services, communications, finance, or the consulting field
  • Project management knowledge and skills
  • Experience or openness to learn about working with large data sets.
  • Experience writing professional communications and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze policy and legislation.
  • Ability to work both in a team situation and autonomously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, in particular Excel.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years working with Home and Community Based Services programs
  • Experience with grant management, application processing, application reviews, etc.
  • Experience managing complex business processes and workflows
  • Change management and communications experience
  • Master’s degree

 

Applicants from across the US will be considered. Work is currently completed virtually, but the position may eventually require up to 50% travel.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,000 - $80,000 . In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
