Project Overview

PCG’s Education Consulting service line is seeking freelance copyeditors to provide ongoing copyediting work in connection with our curriculum development and implementation projects. PCG’s Education Consulting service line focuses on highly complex and innovative state-level and district-level curriculum development and e-learning projects across several content areas and grade bands. This role will be performed remotely.

Specific Responsibilities

• Copyediting final curriculum content in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and/or Google Docs and Google Slides
• Aligning content with house style and the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed.
• Formatting documents in accordance with house style
• Transferring and tracking files through a defined workflow process
• Conducting quality assurance checks on final deliverables

Required Skills/Orientation

• Experience editing K–12 educational curriculum
• Strong familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed.
• Highly skilled in editing and formatting for consistency and correctness in mechanics, grammar, and style
• Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
• Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality
• Able to quickly learn and apply house guidance
• Able to quickly pick up and learn new technology platforms with minimal training
• Driven to seek out and use feedback to improve and to grow

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Copyediting certificate or completion of professional learning courses in grammar and editing

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $40/hour.
