Responsibilities

Provider Quality Assurance Specialist in Augusta, Maine 

 

 

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) provides supportive, preventative, and protective public health and intervention services that safeguard the public health and assist our customers in meeting their needs. The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) within DHHS is responsible for ensuring the safety, support and well-being of adults throughout Maine

 

 

  • Provider Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Department’s and Office’s goals and objectives by collaborating with Disability Services (DS) teams, collecting, reviewing, and assessing data from multiple sources including OADS data systems and Home and Community Based (HCBS) providers
  • Provider Quality Assurance Specialist will also develop training supporting documents and participate in training presentations and initiatives as assigned to support the Department’s and Office’s goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with Disability Services (DS) teams to collect information regarding provider capacity as a waiver service provider, including identifying areas needing improvements, from reported concerns for quality standards
  • From this data and collaboration efforts, develop and provide training to adults to improve quality standards in coordination with the training manager and DS teams
  • This training/support will focus on improving person-centered thinking and planning among the agencies
  • Collect, review, and assess data from OADS data systems, feedback from HCBS providers, and other sources as needed, to determine compliance with waiver and training program requirements
  • Facilitate large group meetings in person or online
  • Develop training supporting documents such as FAQ’s, flyers, technical guides applying plain language where required for outreach
  • Use PowerPoint or equivalents and preferred to have experience with Adobe Captivate and/or Articulate 360 software for presentations
  • Use MS Excel and other electronic tools to accurately record data
  • Participate in initiatives as assigned to support the Department’s and Office’s goals and objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service in conducting all work
  • Participate in meetings as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

Experience and Education 

 

 

  • A combination of six (6) years of education and/or professional experience in social services casework, social services program development/delivery, or social services related policy/fiscal/budget administration/analysis work
  • In addition, background or education in training or development of adult learners and the understanding of person-centered thinking related to supporting people with IDD/Autism is preferred

 

Preference will be given experience in conducting program compliance work, and experience with quality assurance and quality improvement development of services for persons with disabilities

 

 

This is a full time 40-hours per week position

 

 

Knowledge and Skills 

 

  • Possess or quickly develop knowledge of applicable Medicaid, MaineCare and HCBS Waiver policies and regulation, both state and federal
  • Understand Person-Centered Thinking and Planning (PCP)
  • Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and customer service skills as well as excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Work cooperatively with varied constituents, providers and stakeholder groups as well as varied levels of management which may include OADS Quality Assurance (QA) Waiver Specialists, OADS Resource Coordinators, staff from Division of Licensing and Certification and the Office of MaineCare Services

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides the following reasonable compensation for this role: $30 per hour. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
