This position is responsible for tracking, processing, and reconciling of Accounts Payables for Maine CDC’s Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (HETL). The position will work closely with, and within a team of other financial specialists. This position will develop and maintain working relationships with laboratory vendors. This position will cross train and learn other aspects of the finance processes necessary to support the day-to-day operations of this critical team. Other responsibilities include: · Learn to navigate several data platforms necessary for the financial operations of the laboratory. · Create, and improve upon, standard operating procedures. · Coordinate with other HETL finance team members to ensure and create efficiencies in process interactions. · Train and on-board new team members and help to define their roles. · Advice the HETL Finance Team leader. |
Knowledge, Skills and Certifications
Entry level knowledge’s, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following course work/training and/or experience).
An Associate Degree from an accredited educational institution in Accounting -OR- any Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution that includes 12 semester hours in accounting coursework -OR- 3 years of practical work experience providing complex technical support to professional accounting staff. Accounting coursework must include successful completion of Principles of Accounting I & II plus two other accounting-related courses. Experience must demonstrate comprehension and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines.

Schedule
This job is scheduled for 40 hours per week. Normal working hours are between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday-Friday. All work must be performed onsite at the Augusta, ME location, there is no ability to work remotely.
