Summary:
This position is within the Bureau of Performance Management and Quality Improvement (PMQI). PMQI supports the New York State Department of Health, Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) in understanding NYS Medicaid claims data by developing dashboards that show Medicaid utilization, spend and trends, running ad hoc data analyses and developing program budgets based on policy changes. This individual will act as a business analyst, collecting data requirements from OHIP staff and working with PMQI data analysts to gather data requirements and present it back to OHIP leadership. This position requires knowledge of NYS Medicaid and/or Public Health Insurance claims/coding and policy. This individual will also be asked to develop PPT slides and/or materials to explain program initiatives and provide progress updates.
Duties:
· Participate in internal and external workgroups and other meetings, including gathering NYS Medicaid data requirements and preparing agendas, workplans, timelines, and briefing materials and summary reports of key decisions.
· Act as a liaison between OHIP program leadership and PMQI data analysts by documenting and communicating program area needs and monitoring deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects.
· Assist in monitoring PMQI Shared Mailbox requests and the PMQI SharePoint sites, assign data analysis requests and ensure requests are completed.
· Assist with developing fiscal impacts and providing quality checks of produced reports.
· Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of OHIP.
Qualifications:
*Employees must follow established work schedules. The usual work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the supervisor, this includes a half hour unpaid lunch break. Total work hours must equal 40 hours per week.
