Responsibilities

PCG’s Education Consulting service line focuses on highly complex and innovative state-level and district-level curriculum development and e-learning projects across several content areas and grade bands. PCG seeks an experienced Operations Director to lead and manage our curriculum development operations team, including the development and implementation of processes, strategies, and performance metrics to ensure consistency, quality, and effectiveness. The Operations Director works closely with the senior leadership team for each project to design and implement solutions that optimally address our clients’ needs. The Operations Director informs system-wide business processes, budgeting, and quality assurance practices. Specific responsibilities and skill/experience requirements are detailed below.

 

Specific Responsibilities  

  • Develops and implements business approaches, strategies, and performance metrics, tracking progress and measuring performance of programs, teams, services, and staff/contractors as assigned.
  • Ensures business rules and practices are followed for all major processes to ensure standardization, consistency, quality, and compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and contracted performance measures in day-to-day operations.
  • Manages and tracks operations budgets for each client project; negotiates vendor contracts; and approves operations-related accounts payable as needed.
  • Participates in quarterly and yearly business reviews and provides weekly/monthly briefings as required.
  • Collaborates with colleagues across departments such as content teams, project management, finance, and legal as needed to address client business needs; identify, mitigate, and escalate risks; and resolve issues.
  • Manages vendor relationships.
  • Proactively develops strong relationships with the client/stakeholders to ensure client expectations are met/exceeded.
  • Recruits, manages, and actively works to develop staff, including training and capacity building efforts and performance management.
  • Identifies trends in compliance issues and business practices.
  • Ensures maintenance of standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • Excellent leadership, management, and written and verbal communication skills with experience implementing systems for continuous learning.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with multiple agencies and organizations.
  • Ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with federal, state and county agencies as well as the general public.
  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision and on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Office 365 and the Google Suite.
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in a related business discipline or the equivalent required.

    Experience:

    8+ years relevant work experience, proven track record of successfully managing teams of direct report employees, independent contractors, and agency staff. Experience in the K–12 education space, digital and print publishing, curriculum development, and/or e-learning development preferred.
