Education Practice Area

 

 

Our Education Consulting Service Line works with states, districts, and schools to address a wide spectrum of needs such as curriculum development, instructional resources audits, design and facilitation of professional development and professional learning communities, school improvement, and program reviews. 

 

 

Past project engagements have included the development of the EngageNY grades 6–12 English Language Arts Common-Core aligned curriculum for the New York State Education Department, design and delivery of a system of professional learning for the Connecticut State Department of Education, and the creation of curriculum aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T standards. We are currently partnering with Chicago Public Schools to develop a full-year, standards-aligned and culturally-responsive curriculum for PK–12 ELA and mathematics.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

 

Provide Client and Project Management:

 

  • Serve as a contact for ongoing communications with clients
  • Manage internal project teams and ensure that established project management processes and structures are appropriately implemented
  • Manage project plan and coordinate timelines, due dates, assignments, and workflow
  • Develops and maintains project budgets, including client invoicing
  • Participate in and organize planning meetings, status meetings, and other meetings as needed
  • Contribute to on-site training and professional development activities for clients
  • Provide technical support by phone, email, and WebEx as needed
  • Establish and maintain project collaboration sites (e.g., using SharePoint and Google Drive)
  • Prepare client contracts and ensure project legal documents are completed and signed
  • Communicate with staff and clients as needed throughout the contracting process to secure contracts in a timely manner
  • Prepare project status reports for management and for clients

 

Collect, Analyze, Present, and Act upon Data:

 

  • Coordinate data collection efforts including acquisition of student data, survey data, and other data relevant to our projects.
  • Organize and carry out all aspects of survey production and processing, including formatting, printing, distribution, collection, and analysis.
  • Generate spreadsheets, tables, and graphs to effectively and attractively present data for clients.
  • Use advanced features of Excel to expedite data analysis, including complex formulas, linking worksheets, lookups, pivot tables, macros, and charts.
  • Assist with written reports and other materials for clients.

Contribute to Proposal and Business Development:

 

  • Assist proposal teams, including writing sections, coordinating efforts, and preparing proposal submissions
  • Manage the proposal development process, including the development schedule, staff assignments, documentation requirements, production, and timely delivery
  • Regularly scan the environment for new RFPs and other opportunities
  • Participate in business development efforts, including contributing to conferences, marketing campaigns, presentations, and sales meetings

Contribute to the organization:

 

  • Conduct and act upon analysis in service of projects and the business line writ large
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our products and services
  • Communicate regularly about client projects with the project team
  • Keep team apprised of changes within the organization and general corporate news
  • Capture and share knowledge accrued and lessons learned throughout the lifecycle of projects
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes, operations, and client services, along with possible solutions
  • Comply with and help to enforce standard policies and procedures
  • Participate in special assignments as needed

 

Create materials for professional development, e-learning, curriculum, and communications:

 

  • Design and produce content for live, online, and blended training sessions with an eye towards design, storyboarding and scripting video content
  • Incorporate client and end-user feedback to continuously improve professional learning experiences
  • Work with subject matter experts on course development to incorporate appropriate learning technologies in face-to-face and online class environments
  • Oversee and participate in production of materials required for work with clients, including, when required vendor selection, negotiation of best prices, and review of proof materials
  • Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure training materials are accurate
  • Design documents, reports, sales collateral, and presentations that effectively and attractively convey meaning and adhere to style guidelines
  • Recommend new enhancements (e.g., new document styles) and more efficient methods to improve project deliverables
  • Establish logical structures for maintaining version control and storing project documents

 

Qualifications

 

 

Education/Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience leading a multidisciplinary team and drive client satisfaction and growth
  • Experience in Education, Consulting, or Business Operations 
  • Experience with e-Learning content development systems including Articulate Presenter suite and Storyline
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Word
  • Able to work with a diverse range of people
