Nurse III - Clinical Review - MaineCare

Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Perform systematic reviews, analyses, and case reviews to determine support needs, approve additional support, medical add-on and increased staffing for members of the Section 21 Home and Community Benefits for Adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities & Autism, MaineCare Benefits Manual;
  • Perform timely case reviews and clinical input and recommendations about staffing and support needs;
  • Facilitate case reviews, presentations, and team review meetings;
  • Conduct presentations to stakeholder or sub-groups as required;
  • Perform data collection and analysis within the system;
  • Demonstrate excellent written documentation and record keeping skills;
  • Act as Respiratory Program Administrator, as described within the OADS Respiratory Protection Program and as delegated by the OADS Chief Operating Officer, to ensure that all OADS employees required to wear respiratory protection as a condition of their employment are protected from respiratory hazards through the proper use of respirators.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of material, medical, hospital dietetics, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology.
  • Knowledge of mental health and developmental disabilities theory and treatment practices.
  • Knowledge of group dynamics.
  • Ability to instruct and supervise staff nurses, assistants, and attendant personnel.
  • Ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain records and charts and prepare reports.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a field related to health or emergency medical services, or an equivalent combination of education and career experience. Preference given to a Master’s degree. Current Maine professional licensure as RN. Three (3) years minimum work experience within IDD/ASD fields. Preference given to DDNA Certification for work with IDD/ASD populations. 


LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
:

A license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
