Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION:

This is an embedded SSO position within the Office of MaineCare Services, Complex Case Unit (CCU) in Augusta, Maine. This involves administrative work in determining eligibility and coordinating services for medical care programs. The CCU provides Maine residents with simple and timely solutions to complex healthcare, financial, and placement issues through integrated provider and community involvement. 

 

This person must be located within reasonable driving distance to Augusta, ME.


REPRESENTATIVE TASKS
:

  • Review client applications for medical care services in order to determine client eligibility for assistance from the CCU.
  • Assist clients in completing applications, provide information, and resolve problems in order to help individuals apply for and/or receive medical care services from the CCU.
  • Receive and respond to inquiries from clients, agencies, companies, and others in order to provide technical information and assistance.
  • Analyze reports, files, and other forms of information in order to identify barriers to placement and share findings with the team.
  • Provide professional and technical support to the CCU team by attending meetings, taking notes and dispersing to the team, sending emails, faxing documents, creating and filing member files.
  • Use MaineCare's eligibility and claims data to research member information and present findings to the team.
  • Outreach to facilities to locate/obtain placements as necessary.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

Knowledge of assigned medical care program including client eligibility standards.

 

Knowledge of other federal/state programs offering services to clients.

 

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Knowledge of health insurance terminology.

 

Knowledge of special medical care services and non-standardized medical treatments available to clients.

 

Knowledge of computer technology and programs.

Ability to analyze and assess complex information.

Ability to work independently.

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.


Ability to communicate effectively.
 Ability to write clearly and effectively.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).

  • A four (4) year combination of education and experience in care management/ medical eligibility programs and/or experience which demonstrates interviewing and data gathering skills as needed to form basis for judgments in eligibility determinations, claims resolutions, and payment authorization.
  • HS Diploma or GED is required; some college preferred.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role - $18.33 per hour. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
