The Business Intelligence Specialist will help client school districts, state education agencies, and PCG teams improve outcomes for students and families by helping stakeholders more rapidly and effectively access and apply information to guide decisions, continuously improve, and celebrate success. The ideal candidate will exhibit technical expertise in modern business intelligence methodologies and tools, possess a natural curiosity, and will lead with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to make a positive impact in the public education sector.

Responsibilities

 

  • Drive and deliver various projects across the domains of reporting, analytics, dashboard development, data mining, process mining, business performance management, benchmarking, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics
  • Handle large amounts of structured and sometimes unstructured data and surface insights to help identify, develop, and otherwise create new strategic business opportunities and to provide value to education clients and PCG teams
  • Meaningfully engage, consult, and advise clients and PCG teams to help better understand client challenges and key questions, prescribe solutions to address those needs, and capture requirements as they relate to reporting, visualizations and resultant data structures and collections
  • Develop, streamline, and actively participate in user assurance testing procedures
  • Actively participate in the design and delivery of client and staff member training and coaching related to PCG data products and solutions
  • Contribute to the development of white papers and conference presentations focused on leveraging data to drive student outcomes and improve business processes in education
  • Monitor and help PCG and clients evaluate emerging trends in business intelligence and data management, identify potential market opportunities, and play an active role in creating new client services and solutions
  • Create, maintain, and enforce data visualization governance and development standards

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative education data
  • Demonstrated expertise developing compelling dashboards and reports using visualization tools and applications such as Power BI SAP Business Objects, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, oral presentation and written communication skills; including the ability to listen, question and communicate effectively
  • A relentless commitment to contributing to a team culture that is focused on exceptional clientservice, high quality services and solutions, effective communication, and collaboration
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse multi-task team environments
  • Ability to recognize issues, provide solutions, and drive positive change

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required in a related discipline
