Responsibilities

Overall Responsibilities:

Public Consulting Group, Inc.(PCG) currently seeks highly organized, energetic porfessionals that possess sales and networking skills, particularly individuals who have or currently manage sales territories or have worked in hospitality, tourism, or health care industries.  PCG offers unique challenges and performance-driven rewards for developing oppoortunities to place low-income participants into the labor market.  Our corporate culture attacts individuals who are interested in makin an immediate impacct on their community as well as theri own career.  PCG is seeking highly motivated and dependable Job Developer with an interest in public service who can work in our San Diego, CA CalWORKSs Welfare-to-Work/Refugee Employment Services operation.   The Representatives will work with the employer community to encourage the hiring of Welfare-to-Work and Refugee Employment Services clients.  These staff will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships within specific target industries, including hospitality, tourism, and health care.

 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to San Diego employers and form partnerships
  • Attend community events and establish relationships with community partners
  • Organize recruitment and job fair events
  • Assist program participants in filling out employment applications
  • Must be able to compile data in Excel and create reports for metric-based purposes
  • Ability to attend meetings or events outside of normal business hours
  • Effectively track and report services and outcomes.
  • Organize, schedule, and meet directly with the employer community customers and operations staff.
  • Understand market research and apply toward activities that will benefit the customer and the client workforce.
  • Provides job search/career information workshops and presentations; arranges for interviews;
  • Works with participants to improve job performance and gain necessary job skills or reviews other employment options.
  • Provide presentations to staff or employers.
  • Provide support in the development of initiatives, new program implementations.
  • Implement and maintain employer referral and follow up tracking system.
  • Effectively market and represent a program, its clients and services to employers.
  • Interact with clients from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Work independently and in group and meet timelines.
  • Conduct site visits for individuals
  • Coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Proper etiquette including customer relation techniques, superior verbal and communications skills.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail; Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.
  • Understanding of modern office methods and practices; efficient with computers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with community partners and providers.
  • Ability to partner with and motivate clients from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain a record keeping and follow-up system.
  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision and on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills; position requires the ability to maintain and develop relationships from various environments
  • Experience engaging and maintaining strong working relationships with community partners
  • Ability to develop and evaluate processes and procedures to improve operations
  • Exceptional strength in strategic thinking, analysis, problem solving, organizational leadership and collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and execute defined goals and objectives to ensure compliance with performance measures
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
  • Strong communication (oral and written) = and negotiation skills
  • Compassionate and people oriented

Required Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency, significant related experience may substitute for the educational requirements;
  • At least two (2) years of full-time experience leading and/or coordinating teams in a health/social services environment.  
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in workforce development or recruitment is a plus.
  • Coaching and development of others or Sales experience a plus.
