       Social Security Advocacy Management Service SSAMS™:


PCG’s SSAMS™ team provides comprehensive technology driven Social Security disability identification and advocacy services.  Our work encompasses contracts with public sector child welfare, TANF, Medicaid, and private sector individuals and pension/retirement plan agencies to identify and enroll disabled individuals onto Social Security’s Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) programs.


PCG SSAMS™ provides advocacy services for Orange County, California, Social Services Agency (SSA), assisting hard to serve individuals with medical and/or mental health impairments, and who may qualify for federal benefits, in applying for and obtaining SSI, SSDI and, State Supplementary Payment (SSP). These programs are designed to promote employment opportunities and self-sufficiency.  PCG assists potentially eligible CalWORKs/GR clients with the application process for SSI/SSP and SSDI benefits, including providing representation for claims pending at the Social Security Administration from the initial level through the hearing and appeals level.


        Overall Responsibilities:


PCG is seeking a Claims Analyst Lead whose primary responsibilities will include managing a caseload of approximately 80 SSI/SSDI applications pending at the Social Security Administration, acting as the project liaison between Orange County Social Service Agency (SSA) and the PCG project team and supervising one staff who is responsible for screening referrals and developing new applications. The Claims Analyst is responsible to continue the development process of SSI and SSDI claims after a case has been filed with SSA at all levels of adjudication.  A fully developed claim is defined as a conducting a complete analysis of the validity of the strength of the claim and supported by having all the data for the claim entered in the SSAMS database, and collection of all required documents.  The Claims Analyst Lead will work closely with social workers, SSA, Disability Determination Services (DDS) and Office of Hearings Operations (OHO) throughout the application process to ensure a successful outcome of the disability claim.   In addition to working with other team members, this role will include the responsibility to promote project awareness and training for Orange County case worker staff, coordinate workflows with SSAMS™ Claim Processing Center, and participation with the project management team dedicated to meeting project goals and expectations of SSA.


        Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory responsibilities
  • SSI/SSDI case management
  • Work with project management team to ensure deliverables, objectives and goals are met.
  • Coordinate with Intake staff on all incoming referrals.
  • Request medical, psychological, school and work records to support the claim.
  • Maintain regular contact with claimants to obtain updated medical and vocational information.
  • Maintain regular contact with DDS, SSA, and OHO as needed for each claim.
  • Provide project awareness and training to case worker staff.
  • Coordinate workflows between on-site office and SSAMS™ Claims Processing Center in conjunction with Project Manager.
  • Provide monthly reporting statistics to be shared with our client.
  • Participate in the role of facilitating client meetings.

  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision.


            Required Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field is preferred and
  • 3 years of experience with project management or in the human services field
  • Social Security Disability Advocacy experience, a plus
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish, a plus
