Consultants are expected to play a staff roll in a wide range of work assignments that may include policy analysis, quantitative modeling, technical writing, and preparation of various materials for client presentations.  Consultants gain experience in multiple product lines in order to develop skills that will lead to broader and deeper roles.  They should demonstrate success in working with multiple supervisors including senior consultants and managers.  Experienced Consultants will be given the responsibility to research, design, and produce specific products or deliverables.

Responsibilities

Consultants conduct much of an engagement’s quantitative and qualitative analysis, interface with clients and other PCG teams, and prepare a wide range of materials required for internal and client presentations and meetings.  They will direct other staff in these activities as well.  Consultants work in a deadline-oriented, fast paced environment and are typically part of a growing team consisting of consulting and operations staff. Consultants frequently gain experience in more than one product line while developing sophisticated consulting skills and abilities that will lead them to broader and deeper roles.  They must demonstrate success in working with multiple managers/senior staff. 

 

An experienced consultant is sought to provide subject matter expertise in the areas of Electronic Health Records and Health Information Exchange, manage projects of varying sizes, coordinate deliverables across project teams, and develop broader management skills. This Consultant may work across multiple state projects that may vary in subject matter. Projects will primarily consist of Electronic Health Record (EHR) planning and implementations, Health Information Exchange (HIE) planning and management/oversight, and a variety of Medicaid Modernization engagements. Responsibilities will include: advising the project team and clients on industry standards and best practices with EHRs and HIE, providing written and oral updates on progress at regularly scheduled and ad hoc intervals; creating and driving work plan deliverables and timelines; coordinating project proposal development (RFP responses) and submission processes, and supporting business development initiatives.

Required Education & Prior Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous consulting experience.
  • At least 4 years of previous professional experience in the areas of government, consulting, information technology, and/or business operations.
  • Experience in a consulting and advisory role for a medium to large scale EHR Implementation.
  • Experience and familiarity with clinical workflows.
  • Understanding and ability to advise on EHR industry trends and best practices.
  • Experience with health data interoperability standards.
  • Experience in a consulting and advisory role for an EHR Procurement that includes Requirements. gathering, RFP drafting, proposal evaluation, and contract review/negotiation preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred.
