Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager works in a deadline-oriented, fast paced environment as part of a professional, client focused team consisting of consulting and operations staff.
  • The teams' goal is to provide superior service to education sector clients, implementing and managing technology solutions for student success management, data management, and other technology and education consulting services.
  • This position will serve as a liaison between client needs and software development team, including creating system Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), system testing and release, data integration, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • The Project Manager position requires a self-starter who can quickly learn our web-based technologies and support clients through project implementation, training, and ongoing maintenance.
  • The Project Manager will work with the Austin team to support client communication, change management requests, as well as organizing client deadlines and executing client deliverables.
  • This position revolves around technology, software development lifecycle, and project management.


PCG will provide the new Project Manager with a comprehensive, challenging training plan to ensure:

  • Within first 30 days, understand and articulate PCGs existing clients in Texas and available services within PCG’s products and services.  
  • Within 60 days, understand and articulate the framework for establishing successful client relationships and PCG’s approach to maintaining client success.
  • Within 90 days, ability to confidently lead existing and prospective client engagements and other team-wide responsibilities as necessary.


After the implementation of a successful training plan, the Project Manager can expect to focus on project management, client support, and internal processes with at least 80% focus, including:

  • Oversees and coordinates multiple engagements across the team to ensure client deliverables are met in a timely manner
  • Provides high quality project management and client support
  • Investigates and analyzes prospective client operational processes, provides recommended solutions, manages implementation, and provides ongoing maintenance and support to clients
  • Communicates with clients and other stakeholders to improve our services
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control risks
  • Assists Supervisor and Manager in aligning the business development strategy with product/service development
  • Supports business development and lead generation activities
  • Coordinates and monitors proposal responses/solicitations and ensures on-time, complete delivery of proposals
  • Serve as a primary point of support with new and existing clients, as assigned
  • Coordinate teams to prepare for written status reports and materials for new clients; present status reports in client meetings
  • Support project growth and marketing initiatives as assigned
  • Positively contribute to the team, office, region, and firm culture, community, and environment
  • Other responsibilities as necessary will make up the remaining 20%



Required Skills: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze and organize data.
  • Experience supporting all phases of the development life cycle including but not limited to gathering business requirements, writing specifications, managing development tasks, testing and training.
  • High comfort level with web applications – navigating, discussing, envisioning
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets, using Excel or comparable tools.
  • Excellent organizational, oral presentation and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management experience and familiarity with planning deadlines and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Word.
  • Positive attitude and demeanor; showing initiative, enthusiasm, and strong willingness to learn
  • Able to multi-task and work independently while also integrating well within a team environment. 

 Required Experience: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 2-5 years of related experience with proven ability to help lead a multidisciplinary team and drive client satisfaction and growth;
  • Software project management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Business Requirement Documents (BRD) is strongly preferred.
  • School (K-12) experience is a plus.

 Other Requirements: 

  • Travel to client sites (approximately 10 - 15%) required pending COVID-19 restrictions.
