As a member of PCG's Corporate Accounting group you will be one of 26 professionals including three CPA's and one CMA. This position will be located at PCG's headquarters in Downtown Boston.
The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Supervisor and will assist the Accounting Manager and the Corporate Controller with special projects. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and is a person who enjoys new challenges. The successful candidate will possess the ability and desire to grow and assume additional responsibilities as the company grows. This position will include diverse responsibilities including, GL account reconciliations, accounts receivable transactions, monthly accruals and general journals, and special projects as assigned. Success in this position will require the ability to independently develop expertise in new areas (often the result of business growth) and then implement processes and/or procedures to satisfy those business needs. Staff Accountant positions at PCG are designed to provide a wide range of experience for each individual. On a monthly basis, reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and other reconciliations as needed.
Provide general ledger and reporting assistance to financial staff of subsidiary companies.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports to management.
Reconcile intercompany accounts and billings
Ensure revenue recognition is consistent with PCG practice and policies.
Coordinate project billings with project managers.
Responsibilities may change as the department and PCG grow and as deemed necessary by management.
Input billings into accounting software.
Post lockbox deposits, research and reconcile un-posted payments.
Manage international entities monthly accounting
Assist in month and quarter end close processes
Effective Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activity streams.
Ability to work effectively with, and communicate with all levels of management.
Must have the ability to manage task load with frequent interruptions.
Must maintain attention to detail at all times.
Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
Possess discretion to work with confidential information.
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
1-5 years of accounting experience.
Experience with project accounting.
Experience working with accounting software.
Experience with international accounting
Prior experience with revenue recognition principles
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
