The Opportunity
PCG’s Education Consulting service line seeks Curriculum Specialists for a project that will support a district to identify and implement opportunities for K-5 cross-curricular integration and for consistent implementation of K-5 interventions. The project provides motivated individuals a unique opportunity to support students, educators, and administrators through a program review of the K-5 English language arts, Science, and Social Studies curricula and interventions for a major school district in the US. Curriculum Specialists will engage in curriculum audit activities, the development of intervention implementation guidance, and/or the development and delivery of professional learning content to support implementation of the recommendations. The process will be highly collaborative. Specific responsibilities and skill/experience requirements are detailed below. This is a remote, work-from-home, part-time temporary role starting May 2024 with an expected duration of 4-6 months, with the potential opportunity for extension.
About PCG’s Education Consulting Service Line
PCG’s Education Consulting Service Line works with states, districts, and schools to address a wide spectrum of needs such as curriculum development, instructional resources audits, design and facilitation of professional development and professional learning communities, school improvement, and program reviews.
Recent project engagements have included a collaboration with Chicago Public Schools (IL) to develop a full-year, standards-aligned digital curriculum for PK–12 English Language Arts and mathematics. We are providing asynchronous and synchronous professional learning to teachers and administrators to support implementation. We also recently developed a K–5 ELA curriculum in partnership with Pinellas County Schools and a K–2 ELA curriculum in partnership with the School District of Lee County to support their transition to the Florida B.E.S.T standards. Currently, we are partnering with the Texas Education Agency to develop and/or revise several curricula to respond to stakeholder feedback, including K–12 Reading Language Arts, K–6 Spanish Language Arts, K–5 Mathematics, K–5 Social Studies, K–2 Spanish Skills, K–5 Science, and K–5 Integrated (Science, Social Studies, Reading Language Arts). Additionally, we have engaged in the New York City Department of Education Hidden Voices initiative to develop K–12 English language arts mini-units that center the voices and experiences of Americans with Disabilities, Asian-American Pacific Islanders, and Latinos.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: Up to $50 per hour. This is a remote, W - 2 temporary position.
