Contract Curriculum Copyeditor




Public Consulting Group’s (PCG) Education Consulting service line seeks an experienced, tech-savvy copyeditor with curriculum editing and proofreading experience to contribute to our projects. Our team focuses on complex and innovative state- and district-level curriculum and professional development across several content areas and grade bands. Our projects provide educators and students with equitable access to high-quality curriculum that represents the voices and choices of local stakeholders.







  • Copyedit curriculum content to ensure correct spelling, usage, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.
  • Ensure content and format are consistent with house style and The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed.
  • Transfer and track files through the defined workflow process in Google Drive.
  • Participate in a rapid development process that includes peer review and engagement with multiple stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback to writers and designers that is clear, concise, and helpful (linking to relevant documents and offering suggestions where appropriate).
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on final deliverables.






Education and Experience 



  • Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of K–12 curriculum editing experience preferred.
  • Expert user of The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed. and able to quickly learn in-house style guides.
  • Technically proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Self-disciplined problem solver.
  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Driven to seek out and use feedback to improve and to grow.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: Up to $40 per hour. This is a remote, 1099 Independent Contractor role.
